Monday May 16th 2011 — its a numbers game
With the trailing off of Mr Shaadi… interference with My Homie, and reaching the end of the sidewalk with the boy, it was time to fill the funnel.
I’ve learned a lot from my best friend Meliss…. she taught me dating. She led by example. The art of mass texting a flirtatious message to a group of guys. The master-mindedness it takes to have several suitors thinking they are meeting you out – on the same night. The way giving a man a compliment can change his mood. She knew how to talk to men, how to stay in control of every situation, and how to get what she wanted. With my very limited experience in the dating world… I needed to learn from the master. She taught me to give myself options…. for which she has said many, many times “babe, you gotta keep your funnel full”.
Here I am… 35, and finally ready to fill my funnel. I am not ever going to be as comfortable as she is in a crowd of men… but I am ok with that. I am ok with just trying to “talk” to multiple guys simultaneously.
To kick off my “funnel filling”, I decided to do a Monday night with back to back phone dates. I had some guys I have been emailing with on Match. I had 4 great conversations with 4 very different men. One is from Hyderabad – India… one is as white as Apple Pie, and the last 2 are Pakistani. There are things that excited me about all of them… and things that could be considered red flags about each of them too. That said… they seem normal, and perfect for my funnel.
We shall see what comes of Mel’s theory… we shall see if quantity does lead to quality after all.
Good for you! Be prepared to challenge a lot of your core beliefs on love and marriage. Some of the things you write about need to be dumped altogether.
